Gravitational Force

 -Newton's law of universal gravitation states that any two bodies in the universe attract each other with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

 m1: mass of the point mass

 m2: mass of a body (test mass)

Gravitational field strength

- Defined as the gravitational force per unit mass of a body placed at a point acceleration due to gravity

- it also known as gravitational acceleration (free fall acceleration)

                                                                

 

Gravitational potential

- Defined as the work done by a gravitational force in bringing test mass from infinity to a point per unit the test mass.
